Richard Blumenthal serves as Connecticut's senior United States Senator and is one of the nation's most recognized advocates for consumer protection, veterans, and public service. Prior to his election to the United States Senate in 2010, he served for twenty years as Connecticut's Attorney General, earning a national reputation for protecting consumers, combating fraud, and advancing public health and safety. 

A graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School and a former Marine Corps Reservist, Senator Blumenthal has dedicated his career to public service and civic engagement. In the Senate, he has been a leading voice on issues affecting Connecticut families, healthcare access, veterans' services, transportation infrastructure, economic opportunity, and consumer rights.
