A New Era in Hispanic Health Research
The National Hispanic Health Research Institute (NHHRI) exists to elevate and expand research focused on the health and well-being of Hispanic communities across the United States.
We are building a Hispanic-led institute that not only responds to the gaps in healthcare equity but redefines how health is measured, delivered, and experienced by our communities. As a national voice for Hispanic health, NHHRI works to shape federal priorities, inform public policy, and ensure our communities are no longer treated as an afterthought in national healthcare strategy.
What We Do
We’re leading a national network of Hispanic-serving community health agencies working to transform health equity research. Our work includes:
Building a national collaborative of trusted, culturally rooted organizations serving Hispanic communities
Hosting conferences, trainings, and workshops to advance evidence-based practice and community-engaged research, in collaboration with various organizations
Offering technical assistance to help community partners pursue, secure, and manage research funding
Providing mentorship and education in research methodology and culturally responsive ethics, delivered in partnership with various organizations
Co-developing and implementing research protocols grounded in cultural humility and community needs
Elevating community leadership and knowledge through inclusive research design and dissemination
VISION
A future where Hispanic communities shape, lead, and benefit from the research that defines their health.
MISSION
To advance health equity by building a national research infrastructure rooted in community leadership, cultural strength, and scientific integrity. We conduct ethical, impactful research that uplifts our voices, transforms health systems, and reclaims knowledge for our future.
