Waleska Crespo, DrPH, MHSA, BS
Dr. Waleska Crespo Rivera is President of Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, a leading health sciences university where she leads academic programming, research initiatives, and community health partnerships. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, a Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA), and a Doctor of Public Health (DPH) in health services management from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras and Medical Sciences campuses. Prior to becoming president, she served as CEO of the Cardiovascular Center for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean and held academic faculty roles in health services administration.
In her role as president, Dr. Crespo advocates for evidence-based education, interprofessional research, and expanded health workforce training, particularly for clinicians and researchers serving medically underserved populations. Her administration has strengthened institutional accreditation, fostered strategic community partnerships, and elevated the university’s influence in regional health policy and workforce development.
