Bertha Coombs  

Bertha Coombs is an American broadcast journalist and former Senior Health Care Reporter for CNBC, where she reported on the intersection of health care, public policy, business strategy, and financial markets from the Nasdaq MarketSite in New York. Her coverage spanned major developments such as the rollout and impacts of the Affordable Care Act, shifts in the pharmaceutical and insurance industries, health care technology innovations, and how economic forces influence medical systems and patient care. Prior to her more than 20-year tenure at CNBC, Coombs reported and anchored for Yahoo Finance and held reporting positions at ABC News One, CNNfn, and several local television stations across major U.S. media markets.

A graduate of Yale University with a B.A. in History, Coombs developed her early journalistic foundation with a post-graduate reporting fellowship.  She served as a Leo Beranek Fellow at her hometown station, WCVB-TV.

Her deep experience in explaining complex health and economic issues to broad audiences has made her a respected voice in journalism, particularly on topics where health policy and business intersect.
